Reading lecture notes online and listening to the cracked voice of professors due to poor internet connection, it is probably the most special start of semester ever.
You may think it is a waste of youth and precious university time to stay home and just sit in front of a computer attending lessons or even standing for election of student societies. However, thinking from other perspectives, online learning is a unique collective memory in our generation! We “dem beat” (a traditional cheering activity in CUHK) in front of our computer. Our family suddenly popped in to invite us for dinner while we were having a group discussion. The professors forgot to unmute themselves to give an hour-long lecture. All these constitute exclusive and interesting experiences in the university. Every moment is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Let’s cherish every present moment. Although we are unable to come back to campus for the time being, please believe we can meet in campus one day!
